Job Overview

POWER Engineers is seeking a Substation P&C Design Electrical Engineer/Designer to contribute to the design and development of power distribution substations. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions in alignment with project specifications and industry standards. The individual will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that all project requirements are met and delivered on time while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics for substation projects, ensuring adherence to applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare detailed protective relay settings and coordination studies for substation equipment.
• Conduct equipment and software analysis to determine needs for control system upgrades.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and mechanical engineers during the design and implementation phases.
• Manage project documentation and ensure that all modifications are recorded accurately.
• Participate in design reviews and safety assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Support commissioning activities by providing technical expertise and troubleshooting during installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in power systems, particularly in substation design and protection.
• Proficiency with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of protective relays, control systems, and electrical equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with clients and team members.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, but not mandatory.

Technologies & Tools

The Substation P&C Design Electrical Engineer/Designer will utilize various technologies and software, including AutoCAD for design drafting, ETAP for electrical modeling and analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting.
