Temporary Warehouse Associate – Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Temporary Warehouse Associate to assist with daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, and general warehouse organization. The ideal candidate must be comfortable performing physical labor, including heavy lifting, while also being computer-savvy and capable of accurately working within inventory management systems and databases.

Key Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks, including lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials.
Pick, pack, label, and prepare orders for shipment.
Receive incoming shipments, inspect materials, and document any damages or discrepancies.
Scan, count, and accurately record incoming and outgoing inventory.
Enter, update, and track inventory within computer databases and warehouse management systems.
Move and organize inventory throughout the warehouse, including stocking and configuration areas.
Perform inventory counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.
Prepare packing slips, shipping labels, and UPS shipments.
Operate pallet jacks and forklifts when qualified.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
Follow established warehouse procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding warehouse tasks.
Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate databases, enter information accurately, and learn new inventory management systems.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain accurate records.
Comfortable using computers, barcode scanners, and warehouse software.
Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
