Job Description

Vice President

Company: Hop AI

Employment Type: Full-Time | Remote

Department: Business Strategy & Operations

Level: Vice President

Position Overview

Hop AI is seeking an experienced Vice President to help shape business strategy, strengthen financial performance, and lead the operational initiatives that support sustainable growth.

For an AI-focused business, the challenge is not simply developing technology. It is identifying where that technology delivers measurable value, building a viable commercial model, and allocating resources to the opportunities with the strongest potential.

The Vice President will work closely with executive leadership to connect product priorities, business development, and financial planning. This individual will help evaluate growth opportunities, oversee operating budgets, and establish the processes needed to execute strategic initiatives effectively.

We are looking for a leader who brings financial discipline, commercial judgment, and experience managing teams in technology-driven environments. The ideal candidate can assess opportunities beyond their technical promise and make practical decisions based on customer demand, cost, profitability, and long-term business value.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with executive leadership to develop business strategies and establish financial and operational priorities.

Lead cross-functional initiatives involving business operations, product management, commercial development, and finance.

Oversee annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, expense management, and resource allocation.

Evaluate revenue performance, operating margins, cash flow requirements, and business profitability.

Assess the financial viability of AI-related products and commercial initiatives, including development costs, pricing assumptions, and expected returns.

Work with product and technical leaders to align development priorities with customer needs, commercial opportunities, and available financial resources.

Lead business development planning and evaluate potential partnerships, enterprise relationships, and new market opportunities.

Develop financial and operational business cases for new products, service offerings, and strategic investments.

Establish performance metrics to assess commercial growth, operating efficiency, customer economics, and project results.

Coordinate major projects and programs, ensuring that financial commitments, timelines, and business objectives remain aligned.

Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, control operating costs, and strengthen organizational productivity.

Evaluate commercial agreements and partnership economics in collaboration with relevant business and legal stakeholders.

Support organizational planning, including management capacity, hiring priorities, and the financial implications of business expansion.

Guide department leaders through operational changes and establish accountability for execution.

Present financial analyses, business performance reports, and strategic recommendations to senior executives.

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive experience in business strategy, operations, financial management, technology leadership, or related management positions.

At least 7 years of experience leading teams, managing budgets, and overseeing significant business initiatives.

Experience in artificial intelligence, enterprise software, SaaS, or another technology-driven business environment is preferred.

Strong financial management capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, cost analysis, and profitability assessment.

Demonstrated experience developing commercial strategies and evaluating new business opportunities.

Ability to assess technology investments through financial modeling, customer economics, and risk analysis.

Strong understanding of business operations, product commercialization, and organizational performance management.

Experience coordinating cross-functional projects involving technical, commercial, and financial stakeholders.

Knowledge of recurring-revenue business models, pricing strategies, and enterprise customer relationships is advantageous.

Proven ability to lead process improvements and organizational change.

Strong analytical judgment and experience using financial and operational data to guide decisions.

Excellent executive communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Technology Management, or a related field is required. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.

Ideal Candidate

You have led business functions in environments where technology, commercial strategy, and financial performance are closely connected.

You understand that an AI product's value must be demonstrated through practical business outcomes, not technology alone.

You are comfortable reviewing budgets, evaluating financial forecasts, assessing product economics, and making decisions about where to invest limited resources.

You know how to work with technical and commercial leaders without losing sight of operational execution or financial accountability.

You bring experience evaluating partnerships, supporting business development, and translating growth opportunities into realistic operating plans.

You communicate clearly with executives, challenge assumptions constructively, and use financial and operational evidence to support your recommendations.

Above all, you bring the judgment to balance innovation, customer value, financial discipline, and sustainable business growth.
