Job Description
ABOUT EL FAMOSO
El Famoso builds and runs product and e-commerce programs for artists, record labels, streetwear and apparel brands, and other consumer brands. From our Austin-area operation, we take products from design and development through in-house production to online stores, retail shelves, and tour stops. Our e-commerce managers run the stores, our warehouse teams handle fulfillment, and our on-site customer service team takes care of the people buying the products. We work with a growing portfolio of brands across music, entertainment, and apparel, and we're growing with them: in September we moved into a new 80,000 sq ft facility in Mustang Ridge, just outside Austin, and we ship hundreds of thousands of orders to people around the world.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Every order we ship starts with your team. If product isn't received correctly, put in the right place, and counted accurately, nothing downstream works. You'll own that foundation: dock-to-stock speed, location control, and inventory accuracy. You'll lead the receiving and inventory team, including leads and seasonal staff during peak. You set the standards, you run the team that keeps them, and you have a COO who will back you when you build better ways of working.
You'll work directly with the people developing the product, planning the launches, and supporting customers. Those relationships help you plan for upcoming work, align priorities, and improve the handoffs your team depends on.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• Dock to stock. Keep receipts moving accurately from delivery to usable stock. Resolve quantity, condition, and SKU exceptions with clear owners and deadlines, and keep receiving records complete so client billing is right.
• Location control. Set and enforce location naming, bin creation, and dedicated homes for staging, damages, and found inventory. Improve slotting as demand changes.
• Inventory accuracy. Run cycle counts, research transactions in the warehouse management system (WMS), make supported adjustments, and fix root causes so the same errors stop coming back.
• Replenishment. Keep pick locations stocked ahead of daily demand and product launches, in step with the fulfillment team.
• Capacity planning. Build daily and forward plans around inbound deliveries, labor, and space. Flag constraints early and recommend staffing or workflow changes before service slips.
• Your team. Hire, coach, and develop capable leads and backup coverage so the operation doesn't depend on any one person.
• Your numbers. Set targets with the COO, keep a scorecard people trust, and manage labor cost by work type within an approved budget.
• Better tools. Turn recurring problems into tools, automations, and simple procedures your team actually uses.
WHAT YOU BRING
• At least four years in warehouse, inventory control, distribution, or fulfillment operations, including two years directly managing people.
• Direct accountability for receiving and inventory results, with specific examples of improving accuracy, flow, or labor productivity and making the improvement last.
• Hands-on WMS experience with transaction research, location control, counts, and adjustments. You can design a control and explain why it prevents errors.
• Comfortable working from data. You can reconcile inventory and labor figures across systems, spot what's wrong, and turn the analysis into a decision.
• A record of developing leads and holding a team to clear standards.
• At least one improvement you personally took from idea to everyday use, such as a tool, automation, or AI-assisted workflow, with results you can show.
Helpful but not required: ShipHero, Monday.com, multi-client 3PL experience, and high-SKU apparel or merchandise catalogs. No specific degree or music-industry background is required.
TOOLS AND SYSTEMS
ShipHero as our WMS, Monday.com for workflows, a BigQuery data warehouse built on our ShipHero data, and in-house tools we build for the floor. We use AI and automation every day, and good ideas get built quickly here.
PAY AND SCHEDULE
• $80,000–$100,000 salary, depending on experience
• Three weeks (120 hours) of PTO per year, accrued each pay period, with eligibility after 90 days
• Paid company holidays
• Daytime schedule, no night shift. Expect longer days and some weekends during major launches and holiday peak.
• On-site at 633 E Lone Star Drive, Suite 500, Buda, TX 78610
HOW TO APPLY
Apply with your resume and a few sentences about one improvement you led: what was broken, what you changed, and what the numbers did afterward. That note tells us more than a cover letter.
