What it does
On a job in your applications, open "Ask for a referral". Say who you are writing to, add their first name if you know it, and you get two things: a short note to send with a connection request, and a longer message for an email.
Copy it, put it in your own words, and send it yourself.
The same page has links that open LinkedIn's own people search for that company, so you can look for someone to ask. Those links are free on every plan.
Why it helps
A word from someone inside the company helps an application get read. The hard part is knowing what to write to a person you have never met, and that is where most people stop.
With a draft in front of you, asking takes a few minutes. Pick one or two people, not ten.
What it will not do
We do not send the message or contact anyone for you, and we cannot promise that anyone answers or refers you. We hold no information on who works where: the search is LinkedIn's, and you need to be signed in there.
The message is written by an AI model that is told to make up nothing about you. Read it before you send it.

Where to find it
It is in your dashboard, under Applications. Each job with a company has a link to ask for a referral.
