The grey line is the world: 4.9% of everyone, 12.4% of 15 to 24-year-olds. Each country's name leads to its own page: its figures over the years, and the newest one its own survey gave.

Why these figures
Countries measure unemployment in their own ways and at their own times, so their own headline numbers do not line up. These are the International Labour Organization's estimates for 2025, worked out the same way for every country, which is what makes a ranking fair. A country's own survey may give a newer or different number: its page here shows that one.
What the unemployment rate counts
It is the share of the labour force that has no work, is available to work, and is looking for work. People who have stopped looking are not in it, and neither are people working fewer hours than they want.
