French Guiana Unemployment Rate
Unemployment rate by year
Green: everyone 15 and over. Orange: 15 to 24-year-olds.
What the unemployment rate counts
It is the share of the labour force that has no work, is available to work, and is looking for work. People who have stopped looking are not in it, and neither are people working fewer hours than they want.
Whose figure this is
This is what France's labour force survey measured in French Guiana, as Eurostat, the European Union's statistics office, publishes it. Yearly figures from a survey of this size can move by a point or two from one year to the next.
