What it does
You upload a PDF or Word file and press "Read this resume". We pull out your summary, your skills, each job you have held and your education, and show them next to the file.
Then you check it. If a job is missing, a date is wrong or two jobs have run together, you can correct it on the same page.
Why it helps
Many employers put a resume through software before a person sees it. If that software drops a job or muddles your dates, nobody tells you. You just hear nothing.
Reading your resume here shows you what a program makes of it, so you can fix the file before you send it to the next employer.
It is also the first step for the other resume features: suggested rewrites and the print-ready templates work from what was read.
What it will not do
It does not change your file, and it does not send your resume to any employer. The reading is done by an AI model, which can get things wrong. That is why the page asks you to check it.
