Job Description

JOIN OUR TEAM

Guarantee Electrical is building its data and analytics function from the ground up and we're looking for an Application Developer to join the team. You'll report directly to our Director of Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics and play a hands-on role in shaping how a leading electrical contractor turns data into a competitive advantage.

What You'll Do

Build and Maintain Business Applications

Develop, maintain, and continually improve business applications that support data capture, workflows, analysis, and overall company operations. You'll work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate those into application features that make an impact.

Support Vendor Applications

Whether it's assisting with complex configurations or integrating workflows and data movement, you'll take initiative to ensure vendor-owned data-intensive applications are maintainable and aligned with overall strategy. This could span from configuring low-code tools, building application automations, or working with vendor technical teams to enable new features. You'll take ownership of key business applications built on low-code platforms, driving their improvement and standardization. Where necessary, you'll assist in migrating apps to a code-first approach.

Implement Custom Web Applications

Some workflows and processes may not fit out-of-the-box vendor solutions. In those situations, you'll be empowered to develop custom web applications using a code-first approach. These web applications may be extensions of vendor software or standalone depending on use case, with the goal of best meeting the needs of the business. You'll also support and enhance existing custom web applications in use across the company.

Design for Data Quality

Design and recommend application implementations that improve data quality across the organization. Analyze how similar data fields are entered across different applications and drive them toward a standardized approach. Where possible, build applications in a way that bad data cannot get entered in the first place.

Support End Users

Work with business and operational users across the company. Assist them in making the best use of data applications, investigating questions around workflows, and build confidence in using data across the company. Help drive adoption by ensuring users understand and trust the applications along with the inherent data. Help build out training and documentation artifacts to ensure users are comfortable in applications. Assist in change management for deliverables, including user testing, communicating updates, maintaining documentation, and promoting changes through testing and production environments.

Contribute to the Data & Analytics Foundation

As part of a growing team, you'll have opportunities to grow and contribute outside of your current skill set. Whether that's building out new solutions, testing new tools and software, or implementing standards, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact. Partnering with stakeholders across the company, you'll help build solutions to move the business forward. The work you do and conversations with stakeholders will help shape how our data and application environment develops over time.
