Job Description

Artist Assistant / Personal Runner

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: $80,000 annually + Medical, Dental & Vision

Schedule: Highly flexible; 24/7 availability mentality required. No traditional set schedule.

Position Overview

A high-profile recording artist in Los Angeles is seeking a sharp, energetic, and highly resourceful Artist Assistant / Personal Runner to join a fast-paced personal and professional team. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground opportunity for someone who thrives on movement, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in being the person everyone can count on to get things done.

We are looking for a self-starter with hustle, common sense, and a strong work ethic. Someone who can think on their feet, move quickly, take direction, and handle whatever the day brings without needing constant supervision.

This is not a desk job, a traditional 9-to-5 position, or a role for someone who needs a predictable routine. One day may involve driving, coordinating logistics, and running errands; the next may mean supporting the artist at the studio, preparing the residence for an arrival, or handling unexpected requests on short notice.

The ideal candidate is grounded, resilient, discreet, and completely comfortable working behind the scenes. No task is too small, no ego gets in the way, and no two days look the same.

You must be comfortable working behind the scenes, staying ready for the unexpected, and doing whatever it takes to keep the day running smoothly.

This is a demanding position, but for the right person, it offers a unique opportunity to become an essential part of a high-profile artist's inner support team.

Key Responsibilities

Artist Support & Daily Logistics

  • Serve as a reliable, go-to point person for the artist's daily personal needs, errands, and last-minute requests.
  • Handle pickups, deliveries, returns, shopping, dry cleaning, food orders, and other day-to-day responsibilities with speed and accuracy.
  • Provide transportation for the artist's guests, associates, and team members as requested.
  • Assist with logistics between the residence, recording studio, events, appointments, and other locations.
  • Remain flexible and prepared to pivot as schedules and priorities change.
  • Troubleshoot unexpected situations independently and find practical solutions without unnecessary escalation.

Residence & Lifestyle Support

  • Ensure the residence is prepared ahead of the artist's arrival, including adjusting lighting, setting the atmosphere, stocking preferred items, and resetting spaces.
  • Maintain inventory of beverages, snacks, personal essentials, and frequently requested items.
  • Work alongside the existing Housekeeper and household team to maintain an organized, well-functioning residence.
  • Assist with light tidying, organizing, moving items, and general household support when needed.
  • Coordinate deliveries, vendors, and service appointments as directed.
  • Pay attention to the artist's routines and preferences, anticipating needs before being asked.

Team & On-the-Go Support

  • Provide hands-on assistance during studio sessions, events, travel preparations, and other artist-related activities.
  • Communicate efficiently with management, household staff, and other members of the artist's team.
  • Stay on top of outstanding requests, follow-ups, and changing priorities.
  • Handle sensitive information and personal matters with complete discretion.
  • Be ready to jump in wherever additional support is needed, regardless of whether the task falls within a traditional job description.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with grit, stamina, maturity, and an exceptional work ethic. The right person understands that working with a high-profile artist requires flexibility, urgency, discretion, and the ability to operate comfortably in a demanding environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Hustle and initiative: You don't wait around to be told what to do. You recognize what needs attention and take action.
  • A thick skin: You can receive direct feedback, handle high expectations, and remain composed without taking things personally.
  • Strong street smarts and common sense: You are resourceful, observant, and know how to navigate people, personalities, and unexpected situations.
  • Physical energy and stamina: You enjoy staying active, moving between locations, and handling hands-on responsibilities throughout the day.
  • A no-ego attitude: Whether you're coordinating an important delivery or grabbing a last-minute coffee, you approach every responsibility with the same level of professionalism.
  • Reliability: You are punctual, responsive, organized, and follow through without needing reminders.
  • Sound judgment: You understand boundaries, confidentiality, and the importance of knowing when to speak and when to stay behind the scenes.
  • Adaptability: You can change direction quickly, maintain a positive attitude, and perform under pressure.
  • Team mentality: You understand that supporting a high-profile artist is a collaborative effort and are willing to contribute wherever necessary.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Personal Assistant, Artist Assistant, Runner, Production Assistant, or in a similarly fast-paced support role is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in music, entertainment, hospitality, production, or private service is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required.
  • Strong familiarity with Los Angeles and the ability to navigate the city efficiently.
  • Ability to accommodate an unpredictable schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional urgent requests.
  • Comfortable working in a private residence and around high-profile individuals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Professional appearance, discretion, and excellent personal judgment.

We value attitude, drive, reliability, and resourcefulness over an impressive résumé.
