Job Description

Commercial Litigation Attorney | Philadelphia, PA (Remote) – $180K

Location/Schedule: Philadelphia, PA (Remote). A New Jersey office is also open.

Base Salary: $180K

Practice: Mid-level commercial litigation for individuals and middle-market companies. Contract disputes, business torts, shareholder breakups, and fiduciary claims. Repeat clients. Cases are tried.

Our client is a Philadelphia business-litigation boutique opened in 2013, with a second office in Marlton, New Jersey. The managing member is Chambers-ranked for general commercial litigation in the 2025 guide and AV Preeminent. He tries cases, including jury trials. Clients run from local businesses to Fortune 100 companies. The hour expectation is 1,600. Several lawyers came from large firms.

Why You Should Join:

  • Bill 1,600 hours, not a large-firm year: The expectation is 1,600. $180K is the base for a mid-level seat in Center City.
  • Try commercial cases, including jury trials: The managing member is in court regularly and is Chambers-ranked for 2025 in Philadelphia commercial litigation.
  • Represent middle-market companies and individuals, with repeat clients: Contract, business tort, and shareholder disputes. A marketing team and referrals feed the docket.
  • Join lawyers who left large firms for this book: Same quality of commercial work. The hour number and the staffing are not large-firm.
  • Work a firm open since 2013, now in two offices: Philadelphia and Marlton. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York bars are in the group.

What You’ll Actually Do:

  • Litigate contract, business-tort, and shareholder disputes in Pennsylvania state and federal court.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Draft dispositive motions and prepare cases for trial.
  • Handle repeat-client files from intake through resolution.

Requirements:

  • JD and active Pennsylvania bar
  • 4–7 years post-bar commercial or civil litigation — current Associate, Counsel, or Partner
  • Depositions taken and a dispositive motion drafted on a business dispute

No one fits every box perfectly - if you’re a mid-level Commercial Litigation attorney and $180K in Philadelphia at 1,600 hours is the range, let’s talk confidentially.
