CDL A Truck Driver

Role Description This is a part l-time, on-site CDL A Truck Driver role based in Baton Rouge, LA. The driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle to transport freight between designated locations, following all federal, state, and local regulations. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and unloading cargo as needed, maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation, and communicating with dispatch about schedules, routes, and any issues on the road. The driver will be expected to follow company safety policies, adhere to delivery timelines, and maintain a professional and respectful attitude with customers and team members. Jobs assigned daily. Home daily. Pay ranges based off of % of Freight usually 250$-450$.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and current DOT medical certification.
• Proven experience operating commercial trucks, including safe driving practices and adherence to FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections, basic troubleshooting, and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to follow route plans and meet delivery schedules.
• Clear communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, customers, and team members.
• Capacity to handle physical tasks such as climbing in and out of trucks and assisting with loading or unloading as required.
• Knowledge of GPS and basic navigation tools for route planning and adjustments.
• Reliability, professionalism, and commitment to safety as core work habits.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous regional or local haul experience around Baton Rouge or within Louisiana is a plus.
