What You'll Do

Religious School Administration

  • Maintain accurate student and family records using ShulCloud and other administrative systems.
  • Coordinate teacher schedules, substitutes, classrooms, supplies, and weekly school logistics.
  • Serve as a welcoming and responsive administrative contact for families and teachers.
  • Support educational programs, holidays, worship services, and special events.

Clergy & Lifecycle Support

  • Assist with clergy-led programs, worship services, and congregational activities.
  • Handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain organized, accurate, and accessible information across administrative platforms.
  • Create spreadsheets, tracking tools, reports, checklists, and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce administrative errors.
  • Develop and document procedures that make recurring responsibilities easier to manage.
  • Proactively identify challenges and recommend practical solutions.

Communication & Coordination

  • Coordinate information and activities among clergy, teachers, families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Manage competing priorities, deadlines, and projects.
  • Ensure assignments are tracked and completed with consistent follow-through.
  • Communicate clearly, warmly, and professionally.
  • Anticipate needs, solve problems, and help keep daily operations running smoothly.

  • Experience working with databases, CRM systems, or other information management tools.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and develop organizational systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a synagogue, school, nonprofit, or membership-based organization.
  • Familiarity with ShulCloud or similar database systems.
  • Experience coordinating educational programs, events, or complex schedules.
  • Experience developing administrative workflows, reports, or tracking systems.
