About The Role
Cynet Systems is seeking an AI Engineering professional to help design and implement AI-assisted engineering capabilities across 31 production dbt projects in a Marketing Analytics portfolio. This role will connect modern AI tools with established data engineering platforms and delivery processes, including GitHub Copilot, dbt, Snowflake, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, dbt Cloud, and CTM workflows. The successful candidate will help accelerate engineering delivery while preserving governance, security, quality, and human oversight. This position offers a pay range of $50.00 to $55.00 per hour. The selected professional will contribute across requirements analysis, development, automated testing, deployment orchestration, reconciliation, and production support.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring hands-on experience with dbt, Snowflake, Python, and AI-assisted engineering. Strong knowledge of dbt models, macros, materializations, incremental strategies, tests, documentation, lineage, and dbt Fusion is important. Applicants should be comfortable developing Python automation for API integrations, metadata processing, validation, structured outputs, and workflow orchestration. Experience working with GitLab repositories, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, dbt Cloud, or scheduling and deployment tools such as CTM is valuable. Candidates should be able to assess technical and business impacts, review generated code critically, and communicate effectively with developers, architects, QA, platform teams, and deployment stakeholders. A disciplined approach to security, maintainability, performance, and data quality is essential.
Responsibilities
Design reusable AI skills, prompts, agents, and instruction files for dbt and data engineering workflows. Develop AI-supported processes for Jira story intake, impact assessment, technical design, dbt model generation, testing, and code review. Use Snowflake metadata, dbt manifests, GitLab repositories, and lineage information to identify upstream and downstream impacts of proposed changes.
Build automation to validate CTM configurations, dependency sequencing, schedule alignment, and deployment readiness. Develop deployment support for GitLab merge requests, CI/CD pipelines, dbt Cloud execution, release runbooks, and change evidence. Create automated regression testing and data reconciliation across development, pre-production, and production environments. Establish reusable standards for SQL, dbt, data modeling, testing, error handling, observability, and repository structure.
Build AI-assisted support for pipeline monitoring, data freshness, anomaly analysis, defect investigation, and production reconciliation. Integrate approved workflows with GitHub Copilot, Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Snowflake, dbt Cloud, CTM, and approved MCP servers. Create golden datasets and evaluation scenarios to measure draft acceptance, accuracy, rework, test coverage, and edge-case handling. Review AI-generated artifacts for business logic, quality, security, performance, and compliance. Support pilots, developer enablement, troubleshooting, and broader adoption across the project estate.
Benefits
Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; a Health Savings Account; short- and long-term disability insurance; life and AD&D insurance; paid sick leave where required by law; supplemental insurance plans; identity theft protection; pet insurance; employee wellness programs; an Employee Assistance Program; and career growth and professional development opportunities. Eligibility, accrual rates, and usage limits may vary by employment status, length of service, and work location. Paid sick leave is provided in accordance with applicable state and municipal requirements. Cynet Systems Inc. reserves the right to modify, amend, or terminate benefit plans in accordance with applicable laws.
