About The Company
Guidehouse is a professional services firm that supports clients in addressing complex challenges and delivering meaningful outcomes. In this role, you will contribute to data engineering and analysis consulting for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. You will work alongside client stakeholders, project managers, data scientists, and developers to create practical, high-quality solutions. The position is part of the Data Science Consulting job family and requires an active Secret security clearance. Travel may be required up to 25%.
About The Role
Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to help design, develop, and deliver data solutions for a DoD client. You will apply your knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and software development to support the effective use of data and enable informed decision-making. The role involves collaborating across technical and client teams, understanding business and mission needs, and translating them into reliable data engineering solutions. Success requires strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to contribute effectively in a consulting environment.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an active and maintained Secret Federal or DoD security clearance, a bachelor’s degree, and at least eight years of experience in data science, data management, data engineering, technology consulting, or a related field. Candidates should bring a strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and software development principles, along with the communication skills needed to work with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Additional experience that may be valuable includes working with Palantir products such as Foundry; data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI; and big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark. Familiarity with consulting engagements and Agile development methodologies, including Scrum, is also beneficial. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with data integration approaches and tools, including ETL and data ingestion, are advantageous.
Responsibilities
Provide data engineering and analysis consulting services in support of a DoD client. Collaborate with client representatives, project managers, data scientists, and developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with project goals. Apply data modeling and data integration practices to organize, connect, and prepare data for effective use. Contribute to software development activities and support the delivery of dependable, high-quality technical solutions. Help identify challenges, assess potential approaches, and communicate recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Participate in team delivery processes and, where applicable, contribute to Agile development activities. Maintain a client-focused approach while balancing technical considerations, project priorities, and mission needs.
Benefits
Guidehouse offers competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package intended to support employees and their families. Available benefits include medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage; personal and family sick time; company-paid holidays; parental leave and adoption assistance; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Additional offerings may include basic and supplemental life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, health savings and flexible spending accounts, student loan paydown, and tuition reimbursement. Employees may also have access to professional development and learning opportunities, skills development and certifications, an employee referral program, corporate-sponsored events, community outreach, emergency backup childcare, and a mobility stipend. The position may be eligible for a discretionary variable incentive bonus. Benefit eligibility and terms are subject to applicable plan provisions.
