Job Description
About The Company
Capgemini is a global business and technology services company that helps organizations transform and manage their operations through technology, innovation, and consulting. This opportunity sits within an analytics-focused environment where data science and artificial intelligence can help solve business challenges and support better decisions. Capgemini works across industries and brings together expertise in data, engineering, and technology to develop solutions that can be integrated into existing business systems.
About The Role
As a Data Scientist, you will join the Analytics team to develop and deploy machine learning and generative AI solutions. You will use natural language processing, large language models, and other analytical techniques to help the organization move from reactive reporting toward proactive, prescriptive insights. The role combines hands-on model development with the design of scalable workflows and tools that can be used on demand by business teams. You will collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and colleagues across business functions to translate needs into reliable, practical solutions.
Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of common programming and analytics languages, including Python, SQL, or R, and the ability to learn new tools and apply existing skills in changing technical environments. Experience developing and deploying generative AI or large language model solutions is important, particularly with AWS Bedrock and foundation models such as Claude, Llama, or Titan. Candidates should also bring experience building end-to-end machine learning workflows with AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, Amazon SageMaker, and API Gateway.
Relevant experience includes designing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, developing custom embeddings and vector search solutions, and applying prompt engineering and model optimization techniques. Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, production monitoring, data quality practices, security, and governance is valuable. The successful candidate can communicate analytical findings clearly, work collaboratively across technical and business teams, and connect business problems to scalable AI solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models that enable teams to anticipate outcomes and take informed action. Apply natural language processing and generative AI techniques to business use cases, including building and fine-tuning LLM solutions with AWS Bedrock and available foundation models. Design and implement RAG architectures, embedding strategies, and vector search capabilities to make relevant information accessible to AI applications.
Build and maintain end-to-end machine learning workflows using AWS services and integrate AI applications into existing systems in partnership with data and software engineers. Create effective prompts, establish evaluation approaches, and refine models and workflows for quality, efficiency, and responsible use. Clean, prepare, and verify data integrity before analysis; convert ad hoc analyses into scalable, self-service tools; and share actionable insights with stakeholders across business functions. Stay informed about emerging data and analytics tools, and establish appropriate monitoring, governance, security, and compliance practices for production-ready applications.
Benefits
The expected pay range for this position is $53.16 to $83.07 per hour. This range reflects the employer’s good-faith estimate of compensation for the role. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
Equal Opportunity
Capgemini is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made without discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in accordance with applicable laws, including the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. Where legally applicable, job-related background information may be considered in connection with responsibilities involving client property and equipment, confidential information, and access to secure information technology systems. Any such consideration will follow applicable legal requirements.
