About The Role

We are seeking a passionate Senior DevOps Engineer to support a new Space Force project aimed at developing an information connectivity network for warfighters around the globe. This role is part of an exciting modernization initiative where the Space Force is adopting modern software development practices to tackle challenging missions and deliver various capabilities. The position involves working with a modern technology stack, rapid prototyping, and fostering a culture of innovation. The ideal candidate will be energized and excited to work on modern architectures and solve complex problems for our clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 6 years experience in building, planning, and automating within a DevOps/DevSecOps environment
• Proficiency with tools such as Keycloak, GitLab, and ArgoCD
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes and other Cloud Native toolsets supporting the DevOps lifecycle
• Experience integrating and automating software build and test environments
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise using tools like Terraform and Jenkins
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Current Security+ certification
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BigBang or related DevSecOps environments
• Familiarity with RKE-based Kubernetes clusters
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure DevOps pipelines to support software development and deployment
• Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters and Cloud Native toolsets to optimize the DevOps lifecycle
• Automate integration, testing, and deployment processes to improve software delivery speed and quality
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of security practices within the DevSecOps framework
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Jenkins, and other automation tools
• Support modernization efforts by adopting innovative technologies and methodologies aligned with the Space Force’s objectives
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams
• Maintain compliance with security policies and ensure the integrity of systems and data
• Participate in rapid prototyping and iterative development to deliver mission-critical capabilities
