DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a talented DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help build, optimize, and maintain highly reliable, scalable, and high-performance systems supporting mission-critical applications in a fast-paced financial services environment.

This role combines software engineering and systems engineering to improve application reliability, automate operational processes, optimize performance, and strengthen production resilience.

You will collaborate closely with software engineers, business stakeholders, and technology teams to identify complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions that improve system stability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand end-to-end application workflows and their business impact.
• Ensure the reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of production applications.
• Develop automation to eliminate repetitive tasks and resolve recurring operational issues.
• Investigate complex technical problems and implement effective, long-term solutions.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and drive continuous improvements in system reliability.
• Support production applications throughout their development and operational lifecycle.
• Contribute to incident management, troubleshooting, and service recovery.
• Identify opportunities to improve system architecture, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate reliability and resiliency best practices into application design.
• Promote a Site Reliability Engineering mindset across development and technology teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related STEM discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, preferably Python.
• Experience with software development practices, including testing, source control, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and business teams.
• Adaptability and a passion for learning, automation, and solving complex technical problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and React.
• Exposure to production engineering, application monitoring, performance optimization, and incident management.
• Familiarity with cloud application architecture, systems troubleshooting, and reliability engineering practices.
• Experience developing automation and improving operational workflows.
