Economist

Economist: Consider customer requests for moving different kinds of freight to different locations within the U.S. and create the most cost-efficient options. Analyze freight moving and delivery data, company costs, and suggest new strategic methods of transport without compromising companys quality of service. Study various sources of economic information , identify underlying principles and facts of information and determine trends that would impact the analysis. Evaluate market conditions, including freight rates, fuel price trends, and seasonal demand, to support pricing and operational decisions. Develop and apply economic models to optimize routing, load planning, and fleet utilization. Prepare reports to be reviewed by Supervisor prior to submitting proposals to clients. Collect, use and sort data using analytical software such as SAS, MATLAB, SQL , Power Bi and Excel and Google Sheets software. Requirements: Masters degree in International Economics & full time 2-year experience in all of the above subsequent to attainment of Masters degree. 40hrs/wk, 9-5. Job in Palatine, IL.
