Role Description

The Forward Deployed Engineer is a full-time role, working closely with hospital partners to implement, configure, and optimize Rondo’s AI-driven care coordination solutions. In this role, the engineer collaborates with clinical and operational stakeholders to understand workflows, integrate Rondo with existing EMR and hospital systems, and translate real-world needs into technical requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include deploying new features, troubleshooting issues in production environments, managing data pipelines, and ensuring system reliability and performance in high-stakes clinical settings. The Forward Deployed Engineer also prototypes improvements, contributes to product feedback, supports user training and onboarding, and shares learnings with the broader engineering and product teams to continuously refine Rondo’s platform.

Qualifications

Experience with software engineering fundamentals, including proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar).

Strong background in systems integration, APIs, and working with healthcare or enterprise data sources such as EMRs, databases, or messaging platforms.

Skills in troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting production systems, with attention to reliability, performance, and security.

Ability to work directly with clinical and operations teams, translating complex workflows into technical solutions and clear requirements.

Comfort with on-site work in hospital environments, including stakeholder interviews, workflow observation, and hands-on implementation support.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes, configurations, and technical decisions clearly.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience in healthcare technology, health IT, or clinical operations support is strongly preferred; familiarity with AI/ML products is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment.
