Job Description
We’re looking for a Financial Analyst who enjoys both sides of finance: keeping the day-to-day running smoothly and digging into the numbers to find what they’re really saying. You’ll handle the core work of receivables, payables, cash, payroll, and month-end with accuracy and pride. You’ll also go beyond it, using financial and trend analysis to spot patterns, risks, and opportunities. The ideal candidate is comfortable sitting down with senior management, presenting clear insights, and making confident recommendations that shape decisions. You see AI as a natural part of how modern finance gets done. You actively use it to automate routine tasks, speed up analysis, and sharpen your thinking. If you’re detail-oriented but curious, and you like your work to have real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst keeps cash moving in both directions and helps the sales team price complex deals accurately. You will own day-to-day accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, travel expenses, and payroll, contribute to the financial statements, and partner with sales to build quotes that are profitable, compliant, and easy for customers to understand.
This role reports to the Director of Finance and works closely with Sales, Operations, and outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable
• Prepare and send accurate customer invoices on schedule, matched to contracts, and quotes.
• Apply incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts against bank deposits.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances by phone and email.
• Resolve billing disputes, credits, and adjustments with customers and Sales.
• Report weekly on collections, DSO, and at-risk accounts.
Accounts Payable
• Process vendor invoices against purchase orders and work performed.
• Code expenses to the correct GL accounts and cost centers.
• Schedule payment runs to meet terms, capture early-pay discounts, and manage cash flow.
• Maintain vendor master data, W-9s, and 1099 reporting.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end close with AP accruals and reconciliations.
Sales Quote Support
• Partner with sales reps to build complex, multi-line quotes involving custom configurations, bundles, tiered pricing, or multi-year terms.
• Model cost, margin, and cash-flow impact of each deal before it goes to the customer.
• Check quotes against pricing policy, discount approval thresholds, and contract terms.
• Flag deals that fall below margin targets and suggest pricing or structure alternatives.
• Maintain pricing templates and quoting tools so reps can self-serve on simpler deals.
Cash Management
• Monitor daily cash positions across all bank accounts.
• Prepare short-term cash forecasts covering expected receipts and disbursements.
• Coordinate fund transfers between accounts to meet operating needs.
• Flag upcoming cash shortfalls or surpluses to management.
Financial Statements and Schedules
• Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Prepare and update supporting schedules such as prepaids, accruals, and deferred revenue.
• Record month-end journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare variance analysis explaining significant changes against budget and prior periods.
• Provide schedules and support to external professional service providers.
Travel and Expense Management
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy, receipts, and compliance with the travel and expense policy.
• Process approved reimbursements on schedule.
• Reconcile corporate credit card statements and code charges to the correct GL accounts.
• Answer employee questions about the expense policy and recommend policy updates.
Payroll and Bonus Payroll
• Process regular payroll accurately and on time, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay or deductions.
• Calculate and process bonus, commission, and other off-cycle payrolls.
• Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger and record payroll journal entries and accruals.
• Keep payroll and compensation data strictly confidential.
Qualifications:
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in AR, AP, or financial analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and the full AR/AP cycle.
• Advanced Excel skills: lookups, pivot tables, and building pricing or margin models.
• Experience with QuickBooks
Preferred
• Experience supporting sales with deal pricing or quote modeling.
• Familiarity with a CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
• Progress toward a CPA, CMA, or similar certification.
• Experience in a B2B, manufacturing, or technology company with configurable products.
Skills and Competencies
• High attention to detail; invoices, payments, and quotes must be right the first time.
• Clear communicator who can explain margins and pricing to non-finance colleagues.
• Comfortable with firm but friendly collections conversations.
• Organized under deadlines such as month-end close and end-of-quarter deal pushes.
• Sound judgment with confidential financial and customer information.
