Job Description

Title: Senior Full-Stack TypeScript Engineer

Location: 100% Remote

Target Start Date: ASAP

Type: Contract - 12+ months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack TypeScript Engineer with demonstrated experience building enterprise-grade commercial software over multiple years. This individual will be responsible for developing full-stack product features using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and relational databases.

The engineering team is focused on extending an existing enterprise web platform built on micro-frontend architecture while also developing new agent-based workflow automation capabilities. This is a fast-moving, product-focused environment where engineers take ownership of features from initial concept and technical design through implementation, testing, and production delivery.

A key priority is hands-on experience using AI tools for software development. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they incorporate AI into their development workflows, including walking through actual pull requests, explaining how AI was used, and describing how generated code was reviewed, validated, and improved.

Experience building AI agents or LLM-powered applications is a bonus but is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver enterprise-grade commercial software applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.

• Build scalable, maintainable frontend interfaces using React and TypeScript.

• Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Design APIs with appropriate validation, error handling, security considerations, and performance optimization.

• Work with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including data modeling, SQL queries, schema design, indexing, transactions, and migrations.

• Develop and maintain applications within an existing micro-frontend architecture.

• Contribute to new product development initiatives, including prototyping, MVP development, and agent-based workflow automation.

• Use AI-assisted coding tools as part of daily software development while maintaining responsibility for code quality, reliability, and maintainability.

• Review and validate AI-generated code, identify potential issues, and make necessary corrections or improvements.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, QA, and technical leadership to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Identify and address technical debt, improve documentation, and recommend enhancements to existing development processes.

• Work independently in a product-discovery environment with evolving requirements and priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.

• Demonstrated experience building enterprise-grade commercial software over multiple years.

• Extensive hands-on experience developing complex web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

• Strong experience building backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Strong understanding of full-stack application architecture, including frontend development, backend services, APIs, and relational databases.

• Experience with SQL and relational database technologies, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Experience with relational data modeling, joins, indexes, transactions, schema design, and database migrations.

• Experience using typed data-access layers or Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.

• Proven experience independently owning and delivering production-ready software features from initial design through deployment.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools for software development, with the ability to walk through actual pull requests and explain how AI was used, how the resulting code was validated, and what corrections or improvements were made.

• Strong understanding of software development best practices, including code quality, maintainability, testing, and performance optimization.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering, product, design, and QA teams.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed engineering teams.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced product development environment with changing priorities and evolving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building AI agents or agent-based workflow automation solutions.

• Experience developing LLM-powered applications or integrating AI capabilities into commercial software products.

• Experience with tRPC and Drizzle ORM.

• Experience developing applications using micro-frontend architecture.

• Experience building multi-tenant enterprise software applications, including account-level or workspace-level data scoping.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience with Snowflake.

• Experience developing data-intensive enterprise applications.

• Background developing software for financial services, regulatory compliance, reporting, or other highly regulated industries.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. This is a contract opportunity with fully remote work arrangements.
