Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Lincoln, NE. In this position, the technician will diagnose and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, perform maintenance and repair tasks, and conduct preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and improve performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to service calls, inspecting systems for safety and efficiency, replacing or repairing components, and verifying proper operation after service. The technician will interact with customers on-site, explain findings and recommendations, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with each visit. The role also involves maintaining accurate service records, adhering to EPA and local regulations, following company safety procedures, and collaborating with the team to meet scheduling and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose HVAC system issues and identify effective solutions.
• Experience with maintenance & repair tasks on residential and/or commercial heating and air conditioning equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices to improve system reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction, including professional communication, respectful service, and clear explanation of work performed.
• EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for safe handling of refrigerants and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical principles related to HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to customer locations in and around Lincoln, NE.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
• Capacity to work independently on-site, manage time effectively, and follow safety protocols, including proper use of tools and personal protective equipment.
