About the Role

Talemexa is seeking an experienced Node.js Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs, backend services, and real-time application features. In this role, you will build scalable server-side applications using Node.js, Express, or NestJS, work with REST and GraphQL APIs, and develop reliable integrations with database systems and cloud services.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of Node.js development experience, strong TypeScript skills, and practical knowledge of database design, API security, and backend performance optimization. You should be comfortable working with MongoDB or PostgreSQL, managing background jobs and queues, writing automated tests, and monitoring production services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
• Build server-side applications using frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS.
• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Develop real-time application features and reliable communication between services.
• Use TypeScript to write structured, maintainable, and type-safe application code.
• Design database schemas and manage data access using MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
• Optimize database queries, indexing strategies, and data models to improve application performance.
• Implement background jobs, message queues, and asynchronous processing workflows.
• Use caching techniques to improve response times and reduce unnecessary database operations.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services into backend applications.
• Apply API security best practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure error handling.
• Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and application reliability.
• Monitor backend services, investigate production issues, and implement performance improvements.
• Support deployments and application operations using cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable software features.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3–6 years of professional experience in Node.js development.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Express.js or NestJS.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and GraphQL APIs.
• Practical knowledge of MongoDB or PostgreSQL and database design principles.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and background processing.
• Familiarity with queues, caching systems, and scheduled jobs.
• Experience writing automated tests and debugging backend applications.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of API security and secure backend development practices.
• Knowledge of Git, code reviews, and collaborative software development workflows.
