What Good Care Looks Like

Good care is specific. It is the right medication, for the right person, at the exact right time, and someone following up to make sure it actually worked.

That follow-through is where the system usually breaks down, and it is where Clarest steps in. We manage medication for patients across long-term care, assisted living, and at home, building the technology that keeps all three connected so no one gets handed off and forgotten.

None of that happens without the people doing it, which is why we hold ourselves to the same standard with our own. Paid time off increases the longer you are here, life insurance is company-paid, and for associates who enroll in our health plan, a dedicated nurse advocate and no-cost telehealth extend to eligible dependents as well. Careers here move in more directions than most people expect, and many of our leaders started in the roles we are hiring for now.

The Role That Keeps Patient Care Moving

The Order Entry Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in ensuring medication orders are entered accurately, processed efficiently, and ready for fulfillment so patients receive their medications without delay. In this role, you'll work behind the scenes reviewing prescriptions, entering new and refill orders, researching and resolving order issues, supporting insurance and prior authorization workflows, tracking medication deliveries, and assisting customers over the phone regarding their medication needs. Pharmacists, fulfillment teams, nurses, caregivers, healthcare facilities, and ultimately the patients they serve all depend on this role's accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail to keep therapy uninterrupted.

Unlike many Order Entry Pharmacy Technician roles that focus primarily on inventory management, medication preparation, or direct retail interactions, this position centers on the administrative and operational side of pharmacy services. Working in a closed-door pharmacy environment that serves long-term care and post-acute care communities, you'll spend your day behind the desk managing prescription data, supporting insurance approvals, resolving order exceptions, coordinating with customers and care teams, and helping ensure medications move seamlessly through the pharmacy process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, customer service, and navigating complex workflows while making a meaningful impact on patient care.

What You'll Do

  • Enter new and refill medication orders into the pharmacy software system with accuracy and efficiency
  • Track delivery status of medications
  • Provide superior customer service while consulting telephonically with customers regarding medication orders
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve mutual success, ensure timely delivery of medications, and exceed customer expectations
  • Monitor reports to identify medication orders requiring attention and resolve the identified concern
  • Ensure Order Entry is meeting its commitments for pharmacy run times and exceeding expectations of our customers / colleague's performing fulfillment
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods while performing job duties
  • Any and other responsibilities as assigned by the manager to support these and other responsibilities in the department
  • The ability to adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations
