Overview

The Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Oracle will play a pivotal role in overseeing the reliability, availability, and performance of mission-critical systems and services. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable systems architectures to ensure high availability.
• Develop and execute strategies for performance monitoring, incident management, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with development teams to build and integrate new features while ensuring operational reliability.
• Automate repetitive tasks and streamline operational processes through effective use of tooling and scripting.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses of service outages to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Mentor junior SRE team members, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.
• Establish and maintain SRE best practices and standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps role.
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
• Extensive experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Strong skills in scripting and programming languages like Python, Go, or Bash.
• In-depth knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in distributed systems environments.
• Demonstrated experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

Technologies & Tools

The Principal SRE will work extensively with a variety of technologies and tools including cloud services such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), virtualization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef), and containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
