Job Title: Product Operations Analyst
Monthly Pay: $3,721 - $5,558 USD per month
Summary:
Working in a product analytics platform such as Mixpanel and a business intelligence platform such as Tableau, the Product Operations Analyst turns routine product activity into useful operational insights. This entry-level role sits within the product operations team and works under a product operations team lead. The analyst works with product managers, customer support colleagues, and operations partners to explain usage patterns and highlight information gaps. This is a fully remote, desk-based position offering work from home in Texas, United States. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.
Job Responsibilities:
• Review the shared product operations request queue and incoming emails, identifying the question, requested reporting period, intended audience, and information needed before beginning analysis.
• Check incoming requests against existing reports and metric definitions, asking the requesting product manager for clarification when the scope or expected outcome is unclear.
• Review approved product usage views, checking date ranges, filters, missing values, and unexpected changes before using the results in routine operational summaries.
• Use a product analytics platform such as Mixpanel to review established usage measures, compare product activity across periods, and identify patterns requiring closer review.
• Use a business intelligence platform such as Tableau to review existing dashboards, compare reported measures, and prepare clear summaries using approved reporting formats.
• Record the source, reporting period, filters, assumptions, and findings for each request so another team member can understand how the conclusions were reached.
• Compare recurring support themes supplied by customer support colleagues with usage trends, distinguishing observed patterns from explanations that still need confirmation.
• Flag inconsistent figures, unavailable information, or unclear metric definitions to the product operations team lead before sharing conclusions with the requesting stakeholder.
• Follow up with request owners when clarification is outstanding, update request status, and hand completed findings to product managers for review and prioritization.
• Maintain completed analysis notes and incorporate reviewer feedback, with quality judged by accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and timely follow-up on unresolved questions.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required; related experience reviewing product metrics, preparing operational reports, or supporting a product team is preferred.
• Familiarity with basic product usage concepts, including active users, feature adoption, retention, and the difference between counts and percentages.
• Ability to compare reporting periods, check simple calculations, and recognize when missing information could change an interpretation.
• Willingness to learn established dashboards and reporting workflows without assuming that an observed relationship proves a cause.
• Ability to write concise findings, explain basic numerical comparisons, and ask focused questions when a request needs clarification.
• Careful handling of internal product information and consistent use of approved access permissions and reporting procedures.
• A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet private workspace, with availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
Perks & Benefits:
• Fully remote work from home in Texas, with desk-based responsibilities centered on product reporting and analysis.
• Structured onboarding and training on a product analytics platform such as Mixpanel and a business intelligence platform such as Tableau.
• Regular check-ins with the team lead to review findings, clarify priorities, and discuss feedback.
• Opportunities to build product analytics, data validation, dashboard interpretation, and evidence-based reporting skills through routine assignments.
• Health coverage, paid leave, maternity leave, bonus opportunities, and stipends.
