Job Description

Project Engineer | Custom Industrial Equipment

Buffalo, NY | Onsite | Direct Hire

Take ownership of complex engineering projects, from concept through completion.

Do you enjoy seeing equipment go from engineering drawings to a finished, working system? Are you someone who likes solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and being involved in the manufacturing process?

We're partnering with an established engineering and manufacturing company in the Buffalo area that designs and builds custom industrial equipment for customers across a variety of industries.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on Project Engineer who enjoys the technical side of engineering but also wants ownership of projects from start to finish.

What You'll Do

  • Lead custom equipment projects from initial customer requirements through engineering, manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
  • Serve as a key technical contact for customers, working closely with internal engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and outside suppliers.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure equipment meets project requirements.
  • Coordinate the design and integration of mechanical components, piping systems, and related equipment.
  • Help resolve technical challenges during fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Track engineering deliverables and work with cross-functional teams to keep projects moving forward.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, project engineering, or the design and manufacture of industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with customers, suppliers, or cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in being involved throughout the equipment development process.

Especially interested in candidates with exposure to:

  • Custom machinery, industrial equipment, pumps, compressors, piping systems, or skid-mounted equipment.
  • Knowledge of ASME or API standards is helpful but not required.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Work on custom-engineered equipment rather than repetitive production projects.
  • Stay involved from engineering and design through manufacturing and final testing.
  • Enjoy a combination of technical problem-solving, project ownership, and collaboration.
  • Join an established manufacturing environment where engineers have a direct impact on the finished product.
