Job Overview

The Senior Engineer - Data/ML Platforms SRE at GEICO Tech will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our data and machine learning platforms, ensuring that they are robust, scalable, and highly available. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable data and machine learning platforms.
• Monitor system performance and availability, identifying and resolving reliability issues.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to determine performance requirements and identify necessary architectural changes.
• Develop and maintain automation for testing, deployment, and incident response processes.
• Ensure the integrity and security of data within the data platforms.
• Participate in on-call duty to provide support for production issues.
• Drive the adoption of best practices for system reliability, observability, and performance.
• Facilitate continuous improvement through system and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with distributed systems, data pipelines, and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proficient in CI/CD tools and practices.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and operating systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Technologies & Tools

The Senior Engineer will work with a variety of technologies and tools, including cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes), machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), data integration tools (Apache Kafka, Spark), and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible).
