Senior Full Stack Engineer

As part of this initiative, the engineering team is focused on improving platform resilience, expanding system capacity, and delivering modern software solutions within a cloud-first architecture.

The organization is seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to take ownership of critical application services and contribute to the evolution of its broader technology stack. The role centers on Python backend development, with additional responsibility for cloud architecture, data infrastructure, third-party integrations, and targeted full-stack engineering efforts.

This position is ideal for a technically strong engineer who can move comfortably between hands-on implementation and high-level system design. You will partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to turn complex requirements into scalable solutions, influence technical strategy, and improve the reliability and efficiency of systems that support essential financial operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the development of backend services, API frameworks, and distributed application components that facilitate financial transactions and digital product functionality.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable Python applications, emphasizing clean architecture, maintainable code, and reliable performance. Familiarity with Django is advantageous.
• Define technical approaches for platform upgrades and new capabilities, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and anticipated growth.
• Oversee the configuration and evolution of AWS infrastructure, with a focus on system resilience, cloud security, resource utilization, performance optimization, and cost management.
• Develop and support integrations with payment gateways, banking systems, financial service providers, and external software platforms.
• Create and optimize database schemas, data access patterns, and backend processing mechanisms to maintain data consistency and accommodate growing transaction volumes.
• Work alongside user experience and frontend engineering teams, contributing to React and TypeScript applications when cross-stack development is required.
• Enhance software delivery and operational practices through automated testing, deployment pipelines, infrastructure monitoring, centralized logging, and application performance visibility.
• Analyze technical alternatives and architectural trade-offs, considering implementation complexity, business priorities, scalability, delivery timelines, and ongoing operating costs.

Required Experience:

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience delivering and supporting complex, production-grade applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including the development of backend services, REST APIs, and modular application architectures. Experience with Django is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented design, API development, asynchronous processing, and relational database architecture.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL and deploying or managing cloud-native applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Working knowledge of contemporary frontend development, particularly React and TypeScript, with the flexibility to support full-stack initiatives when needed.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical teams, product leaders, and business stakeholders.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation

Annual Base Salary: $280,000–$320,000
