Software Engineer II

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer II at DBByte. The Software Engineer II will design, develop, and maintain backend services and infrastructure that power DBByte’s storage and content delivery platform. The role involves implementing scalable, reliable APIs and services, optimizing system performance, monitoring production systems, and troubleshooting issues. The engineer will collaborate with product managers, other engineers, and operations teams to plan features, review code, and improve architecture and deployment processes. The position also includes writing tests, documenting technical solutions, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, or Rust) and experience building production services.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems concepts relevant to storage and content delivery.
• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Terraform, or Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling services.
• Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching technologies, and performance optimization techniques.
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing) for maintaining reliable systems.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in high-scale infrastructure, content delivery networks, or storage platforms is a plus.
