About the Role

Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer for its Compliance CXAE team to develop and improve its compliance agent platform. In this role, you will build user-facing features using Go, React, and cloud technologies, taking projects from initial design through production deployment.

You will collaborate with product, design, security, and data teams to address complex compliance and customer experience challenges. The role also involves integrating third-party tools, maintaining scalable distributed services, and helping other engineers strengthen their technical skills and development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end development of user-facing features across the compliance agent platform, from design through production deployment.
• Evaluate, select, and implement third-party tools and vendor integrations to extend platform capabilities and support delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design, security, and data teams to develop solutions for complex compliance and customer experience challenges.
• Build and maintain scalable, high-traffic services using event-driven architectures, caching, load balancing, and observability tools across AWS and Kubernetes.
• Mentor engineers on design patterns, coding standards, testing strategies, and deployment best practices.
• Use generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight while improving workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience building web applications.
• Experience with at least one modern backend language, such as Go, Python, or Java, and a frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
• Experience with containerized deployment environments such as Kubernetes or Docker.
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts, including caching, event-driven architectures, or API integrations.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences through documentation, design proposals, and code reviews.
• Ability to use generative AI responsibly, with human oversight, to produce business-ready results and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.

Location and Work Arrangement

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not fully remote, company. Employees should expect to attend quarterly in-person working sessions called “surges.”

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual base salary range: $152,405–$179,300 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
• Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility.
• Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) plan.
• Base salary varies by location.
