Severance payment (Cesantia)
Who can get it. A worker who leaves work without fault of their own after more than 1 year with an employer, and applies within 1 year of leaving. Civil servants are excluded.
How much. 1 week's salary per year of service for years 1 to 10; 1¼ weeks' salary per year for years 11 to 20; 2 weeks' salary per year beyond 20 years. The weekly salary counted is capped (Afl. 2.025,- in 2017, reviewed each year).
