Overview

The Mainframe CICS Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing the CICS environment within our company's mainframe architecture. This role involves implementing software upgrades, maintaining CICSPlex and Sysplex configurations, and ensuring the integrity of the Sysview monitoring systems. Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to CICS and associated software applications.
• Manage and configure CICSPlex environments to ensure system integration and performance efficiency.
• Utilize Sysplex and Sysview to monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Develop, document, and execute test plans for software upgrades and system changes.
• Provide expertise in mainframe architecture to enhance the system’s efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with various teams, including application development and infrastructure support, to streamline processes.
• Implement best practices for performance tuning and incident management within CICS systems.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution for mainframe systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing CICS and mainframe environments.
• Strong knowledge of CICSPlex, Sysplex, and Sysview operations.
• Proven experience with mainframe software upgrade processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with Performance Management tools and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
