AI-Powered Security Automation Engineer

About the program

Train for 12 weeks and compete for a Security Automation Engineer role at Wells Fargo's Columbus Tech Hub. This full-time, live-online program is sponsored by JobsOhio and Wells Fargo. You'll build production-grade security tools on an engineering team. Training is delivered remotely, and hires will work onsite in Columbus, Ohio.

What you'll learn (and eventually do for work)

• Build production-grade security automation in Python, with secure development and CI/CD
• Integrate SIEM, EDR and cloud (Splunk, Azure, GCP) through APIs and webhooks
• Write detection as code (Sigma, MITRE ATT&CK) and SOAR response playbooks
• Build AI-powered triage and enrichment, and verify AI output before trusting it
• Work as an engineering team: sprints, pull requests, code review, red team testing
• Ship one security automation suite against a simulated bank environment, with Wells Fargo employer immersion sessions twice a week

Requirements

• Ohio resident (evidence of residency is required)
• Can read, understand and debug Python, including AI-written code
• Pass a short aptitude assessment and a bank-level background check
• Available full-time, Mon to Thu, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM ET, plus Friday for additional support, from mid-January to mid-April

Not required

• College degree, certifications or security experience. Veterans highly encouraged.

Outcome

Wells Fargo aims to hire as many graduates as possible through a competitive interview process for their Columbus Tech Hub. Graduates not hired are referred to other Ohio employers.
