Position Overview

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) at Renesas Electronics will serve as a crucial link between our engineering teams and our customer base within the San Francisco Bay Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to customers during the pre-sales and post-sales processes. This role involves collaborating closely with design engineers, sales teams, and customers to understand their needs, develop tailored solutions, and ensure optimal integration of our semiconductor products and technologies into their applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Engage directly with customers to understand their application requirements and provide appropriate solutions using Renesas products.
• Support the sales process by delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and engineering, to ensure a seamless product implementation.
• Provide training and technical support to customers, ensuring they achieve a comprehensive understanding of our products.
• Conduct on-site visits and remote sessions to troubleshoot applications and resolve customer issues effectively.
• Assist in the creation of collateral, such as application notes and reference designs, to support customer projects.
• Gather feedback from customers to relay to engineering and product management teams for product improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical support or engineering role, preferably within the semiconductor industry.
• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, analog and digital design, and embedded systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and simulation software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
