100% Remote | Full-Time | 3–6 Month Contract-to-Hire

Company: Perspective Talent

Compensation: $50–$60 per hour

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Location: Remote (United States)

Schedule: Full-time, Eastern Time business hours

About the Opportunity

Perspective Talent is recruiting an experienced IT Systems & Security Engineer for a client in the behavioral healthcare technology industry.

Our client is a growing SaaS organization developing mission-critical software that supports behavioral health and crisis response services across the United States. Operating in a fully remote environment, the company relies on Microsoft Azure and modern cloud technologies to deliver secure, reliable software solutions.

We're seeking a hands-on engineer who combines strong Microsoft cloud administration skills with a security-first mindset, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a passion for automation.

This isn't a traditional systems administrator position. You'll take ownership of critical Microsoft cloud services, endpoint management, identity systems, and security tooling while helping improve how IT operates through practical applications of artificial intelligence.

We're especially interested in someone who already uses AI coding and automation tools such as Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, or similar solutions to work smarter, build scripts, and eliminate repetitive tasks.

This is a 3–6 month contract-to-hire opportunity, with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

What You'll Do

Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure environments, with particular emphasis on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), including host pools, images, session hosts, scaling, and access management.
  • Manage Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployment.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenant services, user licensing, and subscription management while identifying cost optimization opportunities.
  • Support cloud-based business applications and third-party SaaS platforms.
  • Administer cloud telephony services, including user provisioning, phone numbers, call routing, and integrations.
  • Maintain secure, reliable, and efficient systems supporting a distributed workforce.

Identity & Access Management

  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including identity provisioning, permissions, authentication, and access controls.
  • Maintain integrations between HR information systems and Microsoft Entra ID to automate employee account provisioning and lifecycle management.
  • Manage employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding workflows to ensure appropriate accounts, licenses, and access permissions.
  • Apply identity security best practices, including multifactor authentication, conditional access, and least-privilege principles.

AI-Assisted Automation & Process Improvement

  • Use AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms to create and maintain IT automation.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts, Microsoft Graph API integrations, and other solutions that eliminate manual administrative tasks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT efficiency, reliability, and consistency through automation.
  • Maintain documentation, version control, and support procedures for automated processes.
  • Experiment with emerging AI technologies and share successful approaches that improve team productivity.

Security & Compliance

  • Administer Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Monitor and investigate security alerts, tune security policies, and coordinate remediation of identified risks.
  • Implement and maintain security controls across cloud infrastructure, endpoints, identities, and business applications.
  • Support SOC 2 Type II audit readiness, including security control execution, evidence collection, and audit documentation.
  • Help maintain compliance with HIPAA and NIST 800-53-aligned security requirements.
  • Support vulnerability management, endpoint hardening, and security improvement initiatives.

Technical Support & Team Collaboration

  • Serve as an escalation resource for complex Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support issues.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to an IT logistics team member responsible for employee hardware provisioning and shipping.
  • Work with IT support leadership to improve service delivery and resolve challenging technical issues.
  • Collaborate with software development teams on environments, access, deployment support, and other SDLC-related activities.
  • Participate in evaluating new technologies, comparing vendors, and conducting technical pilots.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate effectively across a fully remote organization.
  • Participate in a daily team meeting at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.

What We're Looking For

Technical Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience, preferably in a Microsoft cloud environment.
  • Strong experience administering Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop administration and management.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and experience with Microsoft Graph API.
  • Solid understanding of identity management, conditional access, MFA, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, identity, and endpoint issues.

AI & Automation Mindset

  • Practical, everyday experience using generative AI tools such as Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to demonstrate real examples of using AI to write scripts, troubleshoot technical problems, improve documentation, or automate workflows.
  • Comfortable reviewing, testing, and maintaining AI-generated scripts and automation.
  • Strong curiosity about emerging technologies and a willingness to continuously improve established processes.

Professional Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of critical systems in a remote environment.
  • Experience providing advanced technical support and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of compliance management platforms such as Vanta.
  • Experience integrating HR systems such as Paylocity or Workday with Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, or software release processes.
  • Familiarity with Dialpad or comparable cloud telephony platforms.

Relevant certifications are a plus:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102)
  • Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200)
  • CompTIA Security+

  • Employment arrangement: Full-time W-2 contract employee through Perspective Talent.
  • Contract duration: Initial 3–6 months.
  • Conversion opportunity: Potential transition to permanent employment with our client, subject to performance and business requirements.

  • Benefits: Employer-sponsored health insurance, paid vacation, and other discretionary employee benefits are not offered by Perspective Talent during the initial contract period, subject to applicable law and plan eligibility. Benefits following conversion will be determined by the client. All legally required benefits and protections apply.
  • Work environment: 100% remote within the United States.
  • Schedule: Core working hours aligned with Eastern Time, including a daily 9:00 AM meeting.
  • Additional requirements: Occasional after-hours availability for maintenance, incidents, or audit deadlines. Background check required.

Why This Opportunity?

This role offers an opportunity to own and improve a modern, Microsoft-centric IT environment while contributing directly to the security and reliability of software supporting critical behavioral healthcare services.
