Junior Python Developer (AI/GenAI Focus) - Entry Level/Junior

Consultant's Title: Junior Python Developer (AI/GenAI Focus)

Work Location: West Chester, PA

Is Telecommuting possible? Yes – Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week)

Work environment (private office?, cube?, high rise office building?): Corporate office environment (likely cube/open workspace within a professional office setting)

Who does this position will report to?: Senior Developer / AI/ML Lead / Engineering Manager

Why is there a need for a consultant/contractor? Support emerging AI initiatives and assist with development of agentic AI solutions, backend services, and APIs. Additional bandwidth needed for growing AI-driven projects.

What is the start date of the contract?: TBD (ASAP preferred)

What is the anticipated length/scope of the contract?: 6–12 months with potential for hire

What is the size of department?: Small to mid-sized engineering team (exact size TBD)

What projects will the consultant be involved with?:

• AI/GenAI prototype development
• Agentic AI solutions
• Backend services and API development
• AI-assisted development initiatives

Responsibilities:

• Support development and maintenance of backend services and APIs using Python
• Assist in building and testing AI/GenAI prototypes and lightweight use cases
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical tasks
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Support deployment activities and learn cloud/DevOps fundamentals
• Stay current with AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies

Junior Developer / Programmer

Required Skills:

• Foundational Python development experience (academic, internship, or early career)
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
• Basic understanding of APIs and RESTful services
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Desired Skills:

• Exposure to FastAPI or Flask
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Introductory understanding of AI/ML or Generative AI (OpenAI, Hugging Face, etc.)
• Familiarity with Docker or containerization
• Experience with Git and basic CI/CD concepts
