Working across multiple technology domains and collaborating with teams throughout the organization, you will drive infrastructure modernization, cloud adoption, automation, operational excellence, and complex technology initiatives. What You'll Do

Cloud & Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering

• Lead the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and traditional on-premises data centers.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Windows and Linux environments, servers, storage, networking, databases, and enterprise application infrastructure.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure architectures and recommend innovative solutions to improve performance, scalability, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
• Drive hybrid cloud integration, cloud adoption, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Establish and promote infrastructure engineering standards, best practices, and architectural principles.

Enterprise Systems & Application Platforms

• Provide technical expertise across enterprise web and application platforms, including IIS, Tomcat, WebSphere, and similar technologies.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex infrastructure and application issues across multiple technology layers.
• Collaborate with application, database, network, cybersecurity, and operations teams to optimize system performance, reliability, and availability.
• Identify opportunities to improve application hosting environments and enterprise systems architecture.

Automation, Innovation & Modernization

• Champion infrastructure automation to simplify deployment, administration, monitoring, and operational processes.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Drive initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen infrastructure reliability.
• Explore emerging technologies, cloud capabilities, and engineering practices to continuously improve the enterprise technology landscape.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and automation strategies.

Technical & Project Leadership

• Lead complex cloud and infrastructure projects from technical planning and architecture through implementation and operational transition.
• Drive project execution, managing technical deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to engineering teams, influencing architecture and technology decisions.
• Build strong partnerships across IT and business functions, driving alignment and progress without relying solely on formal authority.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing, technical development, and engineering excellence.

Security, Monitoring & Operational Excellence

• Promote infrastructure security, availability, performance, and operational resilience across enterprise environments.
• Leverage enterprise monitoring, observability, vulnerability management, logging, analytics, and IT service management solutions.
• Work with technologies such as Rapid7, CrowdStrike, Ivanti, Elasticsearch, Splunk, Dynatrace, Power BI, Jira, and ServiceNow.
• Support ITIL-aligned operational processes, incident management, problem management, and continuous service improvement.
• Identify and implement improvements to infrastructure monitoring, security posture, and operational performance.

Data, Analytics & Executive Reporting

• Analyze infrastructure, financial, inventory, performance, capacity, risk, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate technical and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations for technical leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Apply advanced Excel and analytical skills to reconcile complex datasets, evaluate performance, and support informed technology decisions.

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner with Architecture, Cybersecurity, Applications, Development, Infrastructure, Operations, and business teams.
• Communicate complex technical concepts, recommendations, project progress, risks, and business impacts clearly to audiences at all levels.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, engineering standards, and operational procedures.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource and mentor for other engineering professionals.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or related enterprise technology roles.
• 8+ years of experience administering and supporting Windows and Linux environments.
• 8+ years of experience configuring, administering, and supporting enterprise web and application server technologies such as IIS, Tomcat, WebSphere, or equivalent platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments, enterprise infrastructure, and data center architecture.
• Broad technical knowledge across servers, operating systems, cloud services, storage, networking, databases, application platforms, and security.
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex infrastructure or cloud initiatives involving multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
• Exceptional troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to independently research, learn, and adopt new technologies.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including direct or indirect team leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder influence.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS and/or Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Experience leading cloud migrations, hybrid cloud adoption, and enterprise infrastructure modernization.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring, observability, cybersecurity, and IT service management platforms.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments or managed services organizations.
• Background in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
