About The Role

Vaco LLC is seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer / Predictive Analytics Consultant to help scale predictive analytics across the business. The role will focus on forecasting, predictive modeling, and business intelligence transformation, with particular emphasis on sales and marketing initiatives. The preferred locations are Birmingham, Alabama, or Dallas, Texas.

This is a collaborative yet autonomous position for a professional who can work through ambiguity, manage priorities, and deliver practical solutions with limited direction. You will partner with business stakeholders to understand complex challenges, shape them into analytical opportunities, and build models that can operate effectively in an enterprise environment. Your work will help increase delivery capacity, accelerate project timelines, and support a growing demand for analytics.

Qualifications

Candidates should have at least five years of experience in machine learning, predictive analytics, data science, or a related discipline. Strong, hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL is required, along with experience developing machine learning and predictive models from the ground up. Applicants should have worked with large-scale datasets and distributed data processing environments, and be familiar with statistical analysis, forecasting, model validation, and performance optimization.

Experience operating in a cloud-based analytics ecosystem, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, is expected. Spark or PySpark and Snowflake experience are helpful. Preferred qualifications include sales and marketing analytics, business performance forecasting, enterprise machine learning, Databricks or similar modern data platforms, and direct communication with business stakeholders or leadership. The successful candidate brings sound analytical judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to turn business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and deploy machine learning and predictive analytics models using structured and unstructured data. Develop forecasting and prediction solutions for sales, marketing, and operational initiatives. Work directly with stakeholders to clarify goals, investigate business questions, and translate ambiguous requests into actionable analytical work.

Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering; select, validate, tune, and optimize models; and communicate findings and model outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences. Use the organization’s cloud and big data environment to support scalable analytics. Collaborate with analytics, engineering, and business leadership, contribute to improvements in team processes and operational efficiency, and help deliver projects across a growing analytics backlog.
