About LineGear
LineGear supplies fire and rescue equipment and station uniforms to fire departments across Southern California. Weʼre a small team, and the firefighters we outfit count on us to get every order right and on time.
About the role
Youʼll own our uniform orders from the moment they arrive to the day theyʼre delivered. Youʼll take the order, fit the firefighter if needed,
pull and prep the product, walk it to our embroidery partner across the street, inspect the finished work, and ship it, keeping the customer
updated the whole way. You wonʼt be selling or carrying a quota. Youʼll be the reason departments trust us with their uniforms.
What youʼll do (Area, About how much time, What it involves)
1. Order intake and entry - 20%
Receive orders from our online uniform portal, email and phone. Log the date each order arrives. Enter every size, name, rank and embroidery detail accurately, and ask the customer when anything is unclear.
2. Fulfillment and vendor coordination - 25%
Pull shirts, pants, jackets, patches and badges from stock. Label and prep each job, deliver it to our embroidery partner, set priorities with them, and follow up so nothing slips.
3. Customer communication - 15%
Keep department contacts updated on order status before they have to ask. Handle questions, changes and issues with a clear, friendly tone.
4. Fittings - 10%
Size firefighters who come into the store (a few times a week) and on site at academies and stations (about every other week).
5. Inspection and shipping - 10%
Check finished garments against each departmentʼs standards for size, placement, color and lettering. Bag, label and ship completed orders. Weʼll train you.
6. Planning and improvement - 10%
Keep a calendar of upcoming academy graduations, promotions and budget cycles, and reach out to departments ahead of each rush. Track open orders and help improve the process with new tools.
7. Team support - Up to 10%
Help with store calls, walk-in customers, receiving and shipping, and other tasks on small team when needed.

- Some overtime during busy weeks
