Security Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Engineer role based in Woburn, MA. The Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls across applications, networks, and infrastructure to protect systems, data, and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing security risks, performing vulnerability assessments, monitoring security events, and responding to incidents. The role involves collaborating with software, network, and IT teams to ensure secure architecture, reviewing configurations and code for security issues, and supporting compliance with relevant security standards and best practices. The Security Engineer will also contribute to security policies, documentation, and user awareness initiatives to strengthen the organization’s overall security posture.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Security Engineering and Cybersecurity skills, with experience designing and implementing security solutions.
• Candidates should possess Application Security skills, including secure development practices, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation for software and web applications.
• Candidates should possess Network Security skills, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and network segmentation.
• Candidates should possess Information Security skills, including risk assessment, policy development, and familiarity with security frameworks and standards.
• Relevant experience with security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners) and secure configuration of operating systems and cloud or on-prem environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and explain security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, or similar are beneficial.
