Title: Corporate Accountant - Month-End Close

Location: Buffalo, NY

Hire Type: Long-Term Contract (12 Months)

Shift: Standard Business Hours

Compensation: $35-$45/hour

Overview:

Our client is seeking a temporary accounting professional to support its Corporate Accounting team with the monthly financial close and reporting process. This position will primarily support Global Markets while providing additional assistance across Corporate Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong general accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with corporate and regional finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Buffalo, NY, with three days onsite and two days remote per week.

Job Duties:

• Prepare and review journal entries to support the monthly financial close.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and assist with related reporting.
• Prepare close-related schedules, financial analyses, and reports.
• Research accounting activity and resolve discrepancies to ensure transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
• Review international subsidiary financial activity and month-end close submissions.
• Assist with trial balance reviews and account mapping.
• Support intercompany reconciliations and related financial reporting.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and regional finance teams to support an accurate and timely monthly close.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Relevant general accounting experience, including month-end close activities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle Hyperion, or another major ERP or financial reporting system preferred.
• Experience with international accounting, intercompany reconciliations, or multi-entity reporting is a plus.
• CPA certification is highly preferred.
• Ability to work onsite three days per week in Buffalo, NY, and remotely two days per week.
• Ability to commit to a 12-month contract assignment.
