Overview

The Senior AWS Cloud Engineer at AllCloud is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for a variety of client needs. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture and services, alongside the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud solutions. The Senior Cloud Engineer will also oversee the maintenance, security, and optimization of cloud resources while providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS that adhere to best practices.
• Monitor system performance and ensure security, availability, and reliability of cloud services.
• Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to support cloud deployments and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Conduct regular audits of cloud security and compliance and implement necessary improvements.
• Mentor and train junior engineers, providing technical leadership within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, specifically with AWS.
• Strong understanding of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write infrastructure as code leveraging Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Prometheus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is preferred.
