About the Opportunity:

The SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER, PLATFORM ENABLEMENT is responsible for developing backend platforms and tools that facilitate performance testing and analysis for engineering teams. The role focuses on transitioning support from direct consulting to a self-service model, enabling teams to independently manage performance evaluations. This position plays a key part in shaping how performance enablement supports engineering functions through innovative use of artificial intelligence to enhance workflows and outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain reusable backend platforms and tools for performance testing and analysis.
• Design self-service workflows, documentation, templates, diagnostics, and AI-assisted features to minimize bespoke support.
• Incorporate AI in development practices to speed up implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Advocate for integrating performance testing into regular development and release processes.
• Generalize early hands-on solutions for broader team adoption.
• Provide expert technical support for complex performance-related issues and tool/platform improvements.

Requirements:

• Experience in building backend or platform software.
• Skilled in creating internal platforms or developer-facing tools.
• Proven ability to collaborate with development teams to enhance workflows.
• Experience applying AI techniques across the software development lifecycle.
• Background in software performance including analysis, optimization, benchmarking, or improvements.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, k6, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
• Ability to design durable, widely adoptable solutions using systems thinking.
• Strong written communication and influence skills without direct authority.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• United States Salary Range 156,800 to 235,200 USD base salary, excluding bonuses, equity, or benefits.
