Senior Network Software Engineer - Cisco, Python, AWS, Terraform- 100% Remote Contract to Hire

Optomi, in partnership with a major client is seeking a Senior Network Software Engineer to join their team. This engineer will help push forward network projects while also automation various processes and functions within the network engineering team. They will have a strong network foundation (route, switch, firewall, LAN/WAN, cloud) and also significant automation experience (Python, Terraform, Ansible) as well.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot various network and connectivity issues- DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, etc- will work primarily with Cisco equipment
• SDWAN deployments- using Silverpeak in this role but can have experience with other SDWAN platforms
• Automating various network functions, projects, and processes- team uses Python but open to other languages as well- Ansible, Terraform, etc.
• Communicating with other IT departments, stakeholders, and customers- large scale enterprise network
• Network troubleshooting skills, including fundamentals such as OSI layers, ARP, packet captures, and DHCP.

• Strong experience with route, switch, firewall, DNS/DHCP, SDWAN and other networking tools
• Automation knowledge related to the network, connectivity, new sites, etc- Python, Terraform, YAML, Ansible or other automation tools
• Experience in a large enterprise network communicating with many different teams and stakeholders
• Any RF or cellular experience is a plus
• Ability to participate in live technical lab interviews
