Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage large-scale distributed systems for cloud applications.
• Monitor system performance to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Lead troubleshooting initiatives and root-cause analysis for incident management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement service level objectives (SLOs).
• Create documentation for system architectures and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices and advanced operational techniques.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and their application to enhance system resiliency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash.
• Strong background in Linux/Unix systems and networking protocols.
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
• Solid understanding of cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Technologies & Tools

The Senior Principal Engineer Site Reliability will work with a diverse set of technologies and tools including but not limited to Kubernetes for orchestration, Terraform for infrastructure as code, Prometheus for monitoring, and Grafana for visualization. A strong familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab is essential as well, along with knowledge of cloud native applications and microservices architecture.
