About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our remote engineering team. Most of your time will go to building Python services that connect external SaaS platforms to each other and to our internal systems, keeping data accurate and in sync across them. Claude is part of how we work at every stage of the software development lifecycle, and you’ll also serve as a subject matter expert in our organization-wide rollout of AI tools. Front-end work is occasional, and this is primarily a back-end integration role.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain Python services using FastAPI, Django, or similar, with typed, async-capable, well-tested code.
• Design API-to-API integrations between third-party SaaS platforms (REST, webhooks, and vendor SDKs), handling authentication, pagination, rate limits, retries, and failure recovery.
• Keep systems in sync. Upload, synchronize, and enrich records across platforms, with logic that stays reliable when data is late, duplicated, or malformed.
• Own the data layer in MySQL on AWS RDS: schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
• Deploy and run containerized services on AWS (ECS and EC2), with logging and monitoring that make integration failures easy to catch and diagnose.
• Work with Claude across the SDLC. We use it for planning, design, coding, code review, testing, debugging, and documentation. You’ll be responsible for verifying everything it produces before it ships.
• Act as an SME on AI adoption. Participate in our organization’s AI rollout by advising on use cases, helping define guardrails for data handling, and helping colleagues use tools like Claude effectively and safely.
• Make occasional front-end updates in a modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, or Angular) using TypeScript.
• Raise engineering quality through code review and automated testing.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years as a senior software engineer or full stack developer, with experience across the full development lifecycle
• Strong Python skills for back-end development, scripting, and automation
• Extensive hands-on experience integrating with complex third-party APIs, including OAuth 2.0, webhooks, pagination, rate limiting, and retry handling, for reliable, high-volume sync
• Solid SQL and relational database fundamentals, preferably with MySQL
• Working experience deploying applications on AWS (RDS, EC2, ECS) and with Docker
• Working knowledge of a modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, or Angular) plus HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Fluency with Git and collaborative branching workflows on shared codebases
• Experience handling sensitive data securely (credentials, tokens, PII)
• Comfort working with AI coding assistants throughout the development process, and the judgment to review their output critically, especially around security and data handling
• Willingness to teach and advise colleagues on AI tools, and to give input on how the organization adopts them
• Strong written communication and the self-direction to work effectively on a remote team

Nice to Have

• Background in home services, such as field service management, scheduling, dispatch, CRM, or lead management platforms
• Familiarity with WordPress development (modern PHP, block themes, plugins) for maintaining internal admin tools
• Experience building LLM-powered features or integrations
• Prior experience leading or supporting AI tool adoption in an organization
