Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Role Description The Software Engineer Intern is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this position, the intern will collaborate with engineers and product team members to design, build, and test software features that support Hira’s automated job application agents. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing back-end services, writing clean and maintainable code, participating in code reviews, debugging and resolving issues, and contributing to system performance improvements. The intern will also assist in integrating APIs, supporting data workflows, and documenting technical solutions to ensure reliability and scalability of the platform.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Skills in Software Development and Programming, including experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go).
• Experience or coursework in Back-End Web Development, including working with APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to apply OOP principles in designing and implementing software solutions.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment, communicate clearly, and take feedback constructively.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic software development workflows.
• Interest in automation, productivity tools, and building products that improve the job search experience.
