Join Boeing and help develop software that supports critical defense missions. This entry-level opportunity is based in Maryland Heights, Missouri, and offers the chance to contribute to next-generation mission planning technology while building your software engineering career.

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment where teammates can grow and contribute. Its approximately 500 professionals serve 75 defense, commercial, and government clients across more than 50 U.S. locations and nine countries.

Tapestry Solutions combines Boeing’s resources with the agility and people-focused culture of a smaller business. Employees take ownership, pursue excellence, and develop innovative solutions that support important missions and the safety of customers and colleagues around the world.

About The Role

Boeing is seeking an Entry-Level Software Engineer to join a team developing and maintaining weapon planning software for the U.S. Air Force. You will contribute to the next-generation Mission Planning system for the Department of Defense as part of a software development scrum team. The team follows the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and uses a microservices architecture, with TypeScript and React for front-end development and primarily C# for back-end services.

This is a first-shift, U.S.-based position. Applicants must meet applicable U.S. export-control requirements, and the role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain the government clearance. Boeing does not provide employment visa sponsorship, and relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher, experience with C#, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance. Candidates must also meet U.S. export-control requirements as a U.S. Person, as defined by applicable regulations. This includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.

Preferred candidates may have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, along with relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered, including a bachelor’s degree with four or more years of directly related experience, or eight or more years of relevant experience. Additional desired qualifications include familiarity with Agile or Scrum, JavaScript or TypeScript, relational databases, at least one year of full software development life-cycle experience, and AWS, C2S, or other cloud environments.

Responsibilities

With general supervision, develop, document, maintain, and unit-test software using development environments and languages such as C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React. Apply established methods and practices to software design and help specify and maintain software requirements. Investigate defects, troubleshoot operational and integration issues, gather supporting information, and collaborate with teammates to recommend solutions.

You will also integrate and compile software components into builds, test component-level software in the target environment, document deployed processes and tools, and collect relevant metrics. The position may include other duties as assigned.

Benefits

Boeing offers a competitive total rewards package designed to attract, engage, and retain talented employees. Depending on eligibility, benefits may include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. Available programs may vary based on factors such as location and date of hire.

The expected base pay range is $65,000–$72,680. Actual compensation depends on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Eligible employees may also have access to variable compensation opportunities. This is a drug-free workplace; post-offer applicants and employees may be subject to testing under company policy when applicable. Applications are expected to be accepted through November 7, 2026.
